Sidon ("we", "us", "our") is a maritime voyage planning service operated by Sidon Marine Ltd. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you use sidonmarine.uk and any associated services.

We collect data in the following ways:
Account data — name, email address, and authentication credentials provided when you sign up.
Profile data — boat name, length overall (LOA), beam, and fleet preferences you save in the app.
Booking data — berth selections, arrival and departure dates, and payment information processed via Stripe.
Location data — GPS coordinates shared voluntarily when using the Fleet or route planning features.
Usage data — pages visited, features used, and error logs collected to improve the service.
3. How we use your data
To provide and maintain the Sidon platform and its features.
To process berth booking requests and communicate with marina operators on your behalf.
To pre-fill forms with your saved boat dimensions and preferences.
To share your position with fleet members you have explicitly joined.
To send transactional emails related to your bookings and account.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
4. Payment processing
All payment card data is handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers, expiry dates, or CVCs on our servers. When a berth is booked, Stripe places a payment hold (manual capture) that is only charged upon marina confirmation.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:
Marina operators — booking details (name, email, boat dimensions, dates) are shared with the marina you book with.
Service providers — Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), Neon (database), and Vercel (hosting) process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
Legal obligations — where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
6. Data retention
Account and booking data is retained for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years afterwards for legal and financial record-keeping purposes. Location data shared via the Fleet feature is stored for no more than 24 hours.

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and associated data.
Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
Port your data to another service.
